These Terms of Service govern your use of Spectra, including the Chrome extension and this website. By installing the extension or purchasing a Pro license, you agree to these terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not use Spectra.
Upon purchasing Spectra Pro, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use the extension on your own devices. This license is contingent on continued compliance with these terms and does not convey any ownership interest in the software. The free tier is similarly licensed for personal use without payment.
Spectra is intended for use by developers, security researchers, and IT professionals to evaluate the HTTP security header configuration of web properties. The extension operates by reading the response headers that a web server transmits publicly in the course of a normal page load — information that is visible to any browser making the same request. It does not probe for vulnerabilities, access authentication-protected resources, or interact with a site in any way beyond what a standard browser visit would do.
You may use Spectra on any publicly accessible website. However, using the security information surfaced by Spectra as part of an effort to compromise, exploit, or attack a system you are not authorised to access is not a permitted use under this license.
You may not share, sublicense, sell, or transfer your license key to any third party, nor post it publicly in any form. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of Spectra. You may not use Spectra or any part of its output as the basis for building a competing product or service. You may not circumvent, tamper with, or attempt to defeat the license validation system. Any violation of these restrictions is grounds for immediate revocation of your license without refund.
Your license key is your responsibility. Treat it as you would a password. We have no way to determine whether a key is being used by its original purchaser or by someone who obtained it improperly. If you believe your key has been compromised or shared without your consent, contact us immediately at getspectra404@gmail.com so we can issue a replacement.
All payments are processed by Razorpay. Prices are denominated in Indian Rupees (INR). The current Pro price is ₹299 as a one-time payment with no recurring charges. We reserve the right to change pricing for future purchases at any time; any change does not affect licenses already purchased.
Your license key is generated and delivered automatically at the moment payment is confirmed. Because the product is delivered instantly and in full upon purchase, we do not offer refunds once a key has been issued. This is standard practice for digitally delivered software licenses.
If your payment was processed successfully but you did not receive a key due to a technical error, that is not a refund situation — it is a fulfilment issue we will resolve. Email getspectra404@gmail.com with your Razorpay payment ID and we will recover or reissue your key promptly.
Spectra performs all header analysis locally within your browser and does not depend on our servers for its core functionality. Spectra does not transmit the websites you visit to our servers, and we do not collect or store your browsing history. The only outbound network requests made by the extension are periodic license validation calls to our server and an optional HSTS preload status lookup against a public external service (hstspreload.org), which receives only the domain name being checked and no other identifying information.
License validation requires periodic contact with our license server. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the validation service and include a grace period in the extension to handle temporary outages without disrupting your access.
We may update, modify, or discontinue any feature of Spectra at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain feature parity for existing Pro users, but cannot guarantee any specific feature will remain available indefinitely.
We reserve the right to revoke a license at any time if we determine the terms of this agreement have been violated, particularly in cases of key sharing, resale, or attempts to circumvent the licensing system. Revocation is enforced remotely through the license validation system. If you believe a revocation was made in error, contact us and we will review the case.
Spectra, including its source code, design, branding, and all associated content, is the intellectual property of the developer and is protected by applicable copyright law. Purchasing a license grants you the right to use the software as described in these terms; it does not transfer any ownership or intellectual property rights. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Spectra is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the extension will be error-free, that its output will be accurate or complete, or that it will identify every security misconfiguration present on a given site. The extension is a supplementary analysis tool and its output should not be treated as a substitute for a professional security audit.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Spectra, including but not limited to security incidents, data loss, or decisions made on the basis of the extension's output. In any case where liability cannot be fully excluded, our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for your Pro license.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or removed if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
These Terms of Service, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the developer with respect to Spectra and supersede any prior discussions or representations.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. When material changes are made, the extension will prompt you to review and re-accept the updated terms before you can continue using Spectra. Continuing past that prompt constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
